Emirates travels
Just completed the first of 2 weeks service training, only get 1 day off this week as tomorrow we learn all about our schedules, how to bid for flights that we want to work and all this stuff…
Of course I went out last night had lyummy beef noodles at wagamama then we found an English pub so we had some drinks there and ended up in the local nightclub Zinc (you will probably here me referring to this place a lot as its walking distance and where all the crew go). Had a really good night but it took forever to get served at the end of the night so luckily I remember it, have a horrible headache today but am planning on beaching it today so better chuck some water down my neck.
I'm fed up of these early starts - I wake up at 6am for college - so my body clock automatically wakes me up early at the weekend too which is RUBBISH!!! So ive only had 4 hrs sleep but am wide awake.
So, I've got my SUPY flights - what that means is I have one flight on the Airbus and one on the Boeing aircraft where I get to sit in the flight deck for take off and landing, and shadow the crew but I won't be responsible for operating a door. The first one is next Monday night to Doha, which is only 45 mins away so its literally up and down, then on Wednesday I'm flying to Damascus in Syria which is about 3 hrs away. I graduate next Thursday and in 7 days I'll only be working 2 days, and about 8 hrs flying time - nice!!! Don't know the rest of my rosta, at the minute its just saying 'can use' which means they haven't really given me one yet. So here is some inside info for next time you fly;
The bar is well stocked and don't be shy to ask for more booze, we crew are lazy b*****s it seems!!! See if they have hot chocolate, Emirates do! If you ask nicely (and go to the galley, not push the call bell) they'll make you a cuppa tea and might even give you a biccie! We offer after dinner liquers with coffee, so the bar service doesn't stop with the bag of pretzels before dinner.
Can't think straight right now… don't have much else to report. Went to Salsa again this week, but didn't think much of the men there - a lot of them don't have a clue what they're doing so you can't learn, but at least it gets me out of the apartment mid-week. Wish my mates would HURRAY UP and wake up so we can go to the beach!!! Have a great weekend, keep in touch! xxx
