Due to my earlyish night and plenty of sleep, I was up early for breakfast (9am is early!). I started packing up my rucksack as I hadn't packed it properly when I left Vegas and needed to put all the warm clothes to the top for when I got to New Zealand. I met up with Faye and we wandered around San Diego. I'll be honest, there was a lot of restaurants but not many stores! We stumbled upon a Mexican joint which seemed nice. For a change, I had a burger...have to say though it was the best burger I have ever tasted! One of the best parts was the buns were toasted in a honey glaze - yummy!! After I polished that off though I was pretty stuffed.
We were determined to find some more good things about San Diego and luckily this friendly man sent us in the direction of Seaport Village. Unfortunately you had to climb up about a million steps (no joke!) then a million back down the other side! But the view when we got there was amazing. The harbour was full of boats, different shapes and sizes and the village part was about 50 unique shops, no shop the same. The sun was shining and it was lovely to just sit there, relax and people watch (one of my favourite hobbies!). Faye had her palm read, I was not that stupid... apparently she is going to have 2 children by 2 different fathers - Alexander and Dimitrius. She would live till she was 80 and she would have some nip/tuck surgery done! Very funny!
When we got back to the hotel, I finished off packing then went to met a Norweigan girl and guy who we met at Hostel Cat. Of all places, we met them at Hooters (obviously the guys choice!). I have to say though I have never been in a Hooters ever, but they were really friendly and attentive (obviously to get tips like all Americans) and the beer was cheap!
We then gatecrashed their hostels pub crawl because as soon as we arrived there, they actually showed an interest in us and said we should come out. It made a pleasant change from our hostel who seemed to find it an effort to be friendly with guests. We went to a live music bar with a man who looked like Santana (unless it was Santana?!) and then went to a karaoke bar where quite a few of the guests decided to sing. Not me, for a change, I called it a night at midnight (didn't want to turn into a pumpkin!!) and walked home. I knew I would have a killer day of travelling the next day!
