Right so after a 11 hr flight then 2 hrs queuing through customs I finally made it to the hostel! By this time it was 9:30pm so I was definately ready for bed!
Got up on friday morning and did some research on where to go/what to do... the people behind the desk werent very helpful either so I thought.. b***** it I'll go on a tour. I had previously thought that they were a waste of money but it turned out really well for me as I wouldnt have been able to see it all by myself as Los Angeles is so vast.
Went to Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, Hollywood and the Farmers Market! It was all really interesting, and my Seafood Gumbo at the farmers market was amazing!!! Came back from the tour about 3pm and decided to go and collect my bus pass from 7Eleven. Took 45 mins to walk there and back and passed some interesting people on my way! The hostel that I stayed at was in an 'interesting' place to say the least, quite rough and a fair few homeless people too!
Saturday, I went on the free shuttle to Manhattan Beach, was a bit cloudy at first but the sun beamed through and when I got back to the hostel I had realised I had burnt my back (never have been good at putting suncream on my back!), clearly I needed a fit surfer to help me!
Both nights at the hostel I went to bed early, there wasnt much to do and I only shared my 8 bed dorm with one person each night (who didnt even arrive till 11pm and didnt speak english). A lot of people there had their own groups and it was pretty lonely, but I got over it, onwards and upwards!!!
