Well today we arrived at a place called Skagway it was discovered in 1887 by captain William Moore and his son they ventured up the Chilkoot inlet and built a small cabin at the mouth of the Skagway river it only took 10 years for it to become the biggest city in Alaska buy 1896 word was out that gold had been discovered in Yukon within 2years tens of thousand had stampeded Skagway using the steep and dangerous white pass for the prospectors that made it through the mountains they had a even harder task to face the 600 mile trek across Yukons frozen trail to the Klondike gold fields many died but for the few that made it the wealth of the lucky few was very reel over 50 Milligan was pulled out in just 4years. We disembarked the ship and started to walk around the town we needed to get some exercise after indulging in all this fantastic food and inclusive drinks the town itself reminds us of a typical western town you see on the movies with wide roads and the pavements as we no it is all old timber decking the buildings were mostly made of wood but they had a lot of character to them. John bought another camera there I am coming to the conclusion that we cannot go away without buying a camera or a suitcase the collection is building. After a nice walk around the town we made our way back to the ship the scenery around here is lovely but it is very windy and it is a bitter wind once we were back on board it was time for a rest so John could play with is camera we watched a really good show that night at the Martini bar and crush eat your heart out Tom Cruise the bartenders there were amazing mixing all the cocktails and throwing the shakers about it was fantastic the cocktails were great as well another day over having a great holiday.
