Well we arrived safe and sound after leaving Vancouver it was a long day as we got to the airport at 12ish Chris and Karen put there bags in first as they left about 3.30and we did not leave until 8.40 we thought we would all pass the time playing cards wrong they had to go through straight away. We went and enquired British Airways does have a lounge we thought great wrong again did not open until 5 after we had checked in so we found a seat and waited finally we checked in and went through to the lounge it was comfortable and the wine was okay. The plane was funny as we are buisness class the seats were like pods and we were facing one and another weird not sure if we like them. Arrived and caught a taxi to hotel Sheriton park cost 70 pounds in taxi hotel is nice sun shining had a champaign cocktail 15pounds 7 pounds corona hotel is 4min from harrods so we went for a walk that many people it was packed the store stays open until 10 every night bar Sunday. We only bought a set of traveling scales in there had dinner in the pub which was lovely garlic mushrooms on crispy bread with a garlic peppercorn sauce just perfect John had fish chips tasting plate we shared it had a early night as both of us very tired. Day 2 in London woke up about 7.30 and got ready to go out put our raincoats in backpack got a map and left the hotel at 9.30 John was brave just in his tshirt ha ha he lasted 5 mins that wind was freezing and it had started to drizzle we walked to St James palace found a great cafe there had full English breakfast each and 2coffees each 30 pounds after that we set of walking again by this stage raining hard we walked for hours saw Buckingham Palace Big Ben Houses of Parliament Nelson's Column London Eye Marble Arch Trafalgar Square. We arrived back at the hotel at 4.30 drowned rats we were soaked right down to our skin our raincoats did well but even they were struggling with the amount of rain the iPad was swimming in water literally dripping when John took it out of the backpack which will take days to dry out thankfully it is still working I have hung all of our clothes over the bath to drip-dry I cannot ever remember being this wet before and to add insult to injury we were checking on a map at a bus stop which direction to go when a bus went passed and sprayed me with water just like you see on the movies we just looked at one and other and just laughed. We went out to dinner 5mns from the hotel then came back and had a early night. The weather today is supposed to be thunderstorms it is 7.55 in the morning and grey and foggy out there doing more walking and sightseeing today I won't be walking as far as yesterday as trainers are still soaking and cannot bring myself to put them on going to get ready now and see what the day brings.well that was not true walked for miles again feet now swearing at me still raining even johns feet sore. We have booked a car for tomorrow to drive down to Manchester the rain has slowed down so we went back to hotel got changed and went out again marvelous what half hour rest does for you John decided that we were going to Harrods it is amazing I had my hair done in there bought some biscuits we had Indian for dinner and had a very pleasant evening for our last night in London did not get to go on the London eye still we will do that next time just checked my feet and they look like they are going webbed I think I am turning into a DUCK with all this rain.
