Cape town is amazing! Seriously I had such a great time. But let me start from the beginning. Took the bus from Nelspruit to Johannesburg and then flew to Cape town. After we have arrived at the Lodge in Green Point, which is about 15 minutes from the city center of Cape town, but closer to the ocean, we decided to go to the Waterfront, that is a huge shopping and dining complex at the harbour, we decided to have dinner there with view at the Table Mountain. The next day we went to the city center of Cape town and spent the day at Greenmarket Square, the Botanical Garden, Long Street and Kloof Street. The city center is very beautiful, bright colured houses, and from almost every point in the city you can see the Table Mountain. For the last 2 days of our Cape town trip we decided to hire a car, because we wanted to explore a bit more than just Cape town city. We drove along the east coast with direction Cape Point. For lunch we stopped at a very nice lonely beach, the water was freezing cold, but we actually saw some people surfing. In the afternoon we arrived at Cape Point, very pretty place and we saw the sunset at the Cape of Good Hope, the most south-western point of the African continent. I have to say I like Cape Point a lot more, the view was stunning and the water around Cape point was light blue. On the way back we stopped at Simon's town, where penguin colony is living at a beach.
Our last day we decided to have breakfast at the Waterfront and did some last shopping. The afternoon we spent relaxing at the beach before we decided to head for Table Mountain. Table Mountain is about 30 km outside of Cape town, from there you take a cable car that takes you to the top. From the Table Mountain you have a wonderful view at Cape town, the beaches, the coast and and the environs. We also saw the sunset there again, it was incredible. For our last night we went to the Cape Quarter, which is known as the gay quarter of Cape town. We had dinner at a very nice restaurant Chenin, I had the best pasta of my whole life!!!, and the atmosphere was amazing, a live band was playing and the people around us where very friendly and open-minded. Cape quarter is not as touristic as for example the Waterfront and there we could experience real capetonian life.
Cape town is a wonderful city and I wanna go back there as soon as possible. But next time I wanna spend there more than just 5 days, because that is was to short for the mother city of South Africa.
