Yay! There's fresh meat in the house! The feeling I have right now is one that I never thought I'd have here. I remember (last week) how intimidating it is entering a strange house with 11 people (9 when I got here) that already live there and know their ways around. Now, I'm the one that can give advice and tips on getting adjusted easily. I'm very excited to be helpful to them, because I wish I had someone that was as excited to help me. The two new people are a guy and girl and they are a couple. They are 18, I believe, and they will be doing the same work as I am. Even better! They seem so sweet and friendly, just what I was hoping for the new people to be like!! Today was a very fun day. We got to sleep in (only til 8:30 lol) and then we decided to go to a shopping market about a half an hour north. I like that area because it's much cleaner! Oh, we also ate at the American place we ate at last week. It's still amazing if you're wondering! At the market, I bought a few presents for my family and for myself :) i found a llama jacket that is soooo warm. A perfect purchase, because I am lacking in warmer tops! The majority of us in the house have these llama jackets and Ecuador pants. They're our lounging clothes. On our way back we had a hell of a time with the trolleys. We went the wrong way once and then the last one we caught was PACKED!! I've never had that experience before. It felt like we were sardines. Then when we got off, one of our group members realize someone stole her phone from her bag while we were being sardines. It was a very sad and brings you back to reality. I think we've all gotten a little more comfortable, but we need to remember that the people of Ecuador do what they can to make money. It is demonstrated every day on the streets when they sell oranges and bubble gum just to make a buck. And an iPhone... They can get around $1000 for it, or so we're told! I haven't carried my phone around Quito yet, only on vacations. Oh, and dinner tonight was AMAZING. We had lasagna made at home for us. And some salad. Ugh, so good. And I don't even care for lasagna usually. Tomorrow starts a new work week and after work we are traveling to north Quito to watch the Ecuador soccer team! Should be fun. GOOOOOOOOOAAALLLLL!
