It was a slow start eventually rising and walking to meet A&A at Huck Finns Diner for lunch at 12.30. Classic southern fare, gumbo, jambalaya and blackened alligator. I think it was our first time with alligator and it was delicious.
From there we walked a block to the Ruby Slippers Cafe. The Abyzz boys and Julian raved about the Bloody Mary there. They make it with bacon infused vodka and it comes with a strip of bacon in place of the usual celery and green beans - no idea why green beans lol we bought just one and all but Pete tried it. It was one of the worst things I've ever drunk, truly awful. It was left on the bar with well less than a quarter of it drunk. I think the main problem is they remove the celery and replace it with heaps of celery salt, really gross.
Another short walk and we got to the WW2 Museum. Both Aaron and Pete got nice discounts after showing their veterans ID cards. It was really well done, we all loved it and I think we all even learned a thing or two. There are experiences too, 4D movie sort of things but we didn't have time to do any of them unfortunately.
They shut at five and we were some of the last out. We parted ways and walked to our respective hotels as gentle rain fell.
We again hung out in the hotel, working a little and watching some shows. About 8.30 we ventured out, not much change in the weather despite all the dire warnings. Just up the road to a chicken joint for some tenders and that was it for our last night in the big easy.
