Hello from Greece. Caught the ferry from Brindisi to Patras a 16 hour trip. We parked the van on the "open" deck and this enabled us to stay in the van if we wanted. So after dinner we went for a walk round the ship and then slept. It was very windy and wet so we were glad of the shelter. Shared the ship with about 100 Harley bikers, on their way to a raly here in Patras. They reckon there will be about 5,000 bikers here for the week. Alread...

From Sicily. We are really enjoying it here. The people are a little more friendly and a lot more helpful. The coast is very mountainous on the northern side of the Island but in the mid and south it is rolling country side. Olive trees, citrus groves, grapes and many vegetables grow very easily here and we are enjoying the plentiful choice and supply at very cheap prices. Naples would have to rate as the filthiest, dirtiest, disgusting,,run down,,shambolic city I have ever been in. The streets are something out of a third world country. Quite often we were down to first gear to pick our way down some of the "roads" which pissed off the locals somewhat as they just don't seem to care what the surface is like. Sunday 9May Hi. As you can see we drove through some spectacular scenery today. The "med" is so blue when the sun is shining. The Amalfi Coast is famous for its rugged hills and inlets with ancient villages around and up and down the cliffs. It really is spectacular.
