Currently chilling in Rotorua after a mad morning of white water rafting, Went over what they claim is currently the highest guided raftable waterfall in the world at 7 meters, and yes it was scary and amazing !!! (I had to sit at the front )
To get here we picked up the camper after bit of an epic of getting back to the airport, waiting for our pick up bus and then the rental office was mad busy, so I was getting alittle grumpy !
Finally we headed off north up the east coast to a marine reserve but it was lashing down and the sea too rough to appreciate the fish etc, onward to the west coat and to a camp site, on arrival it looked like a pikey camp so we chose not to stop as we valued our lives, so headed back towards Auckland to a site that was booked up, it was now bout 9pm and i needed a nap, next site on the map turned out to be between a scout camp and rugby pitch and the village was deserted, strange but that had to do.
Next morn early we dashed off towards the Waitimo caves where we went cave rafting, imagine caving with a car inner tube, good fun, but was nothing really that I havent seen, except the glowworms i guess. Had a nice camper site this time so could go for a few beers and slept without the fear of being murdered! before we left Had to visit the rabbit shearing shed, they were the biggest rabbits ever ! they use the fur to make knitted jumpers, hats, gloves etc. RHIBEE IF I COULD HAVE BROUGHT HIM HOME FOR YOU I WOULD HAVE ! (pics to follow soon, havent go my lead)
Arrived here yesterday afternoon, went for a swim in the pool before going on a Maori experience, dancing, carving and a village tour lovely meal included so we both stocked up on good food !
Heading off to Taupo in abit for more fun and games. (photos will be on very soon)
