Another update for you all,
Cj has headed off to the airport for her flight and I go in bout an hour, so some peace for a little while!
Since the Mount Cooke walk we headed to Geraldine and and stayed in town, went to a very old strange cinema, the lower level had sofas and beanbags, all weired
Then I draged cj on a bush walk, it was roasting and not very exciting, so she wasnt best pleased with that one !
Then we had a barney with the campervan company on the phone and got the van for an extra 4 days FREE due to their crap vans breakingdown, so we made the most and headed to Banks Peninsilar and ANKORA, a french town apparently, didnt see a baguette or any onions so im not so sure, had some sea food yum.
Whilst looking at the map I spotted a little town with a beach which we had to vist as the place was called "AMBERLEY" (my house name) beach was ok, town not very exciting, not as smart as my bungalow !!!
Now we had to head back to KIAKORA for our dolphin swimming which we booked weeks ago, Up at 5am and kitted up with wetsuit, wet suit hat, flippers, snorkel and on a bus to the boat. Saw the sun rising as we headed out to find the big fish. Once they are spotted its get ready time and in you go PLOP ! You are told to be dolphin like to attract and interact with them, so about 10 people all making dolphin noises through a snorkal is a very funny sight. it works though and they really do play with you even though they are totally wild. When they get bored and clear off a horn sounds on the boat and you swim back and sit on a step and off the captain goes to find more, then horn goes and you all go for it again, good fun.did it about 5 times and we were all knackered, cj went a funny colour and had her eye on an empty bucket all the way back to port, although she still claims she never gets sea sick!! Where as i had complementry hot choc and ginger nuts, I dindt wind her up too much, ye right !
So now in Christchurch, took van back, no mention of cj's massive dent, and some how she managed to get refunded for her silk liner that she left (and wasnt found) in the second bust van, Lucky madam or what !
Christchurch is nice but not loads to see or do once the touristy things are done, so will be glad to move on. seem to have loads of bands playing in the parks and in the town all the time, one we stumbled accross had a massive fireworks display as a finale, all good free entertainment.
well thats it from NZ i guess, onwards for a few days.
I will try some pics but my camera and these computers dont seem to agree on what to do and I get ratty and give up !
