Just managed to get on the internet at work so this will be only a short note to say many thanks for the birthday wishes.
You both seem to be having such a varied and excitng experience. I think maybe you should write a book on your trip.
Its not often I managed to get on the site but when I do your coverage together with the photograghs gives one a vivid
outlook on what you both are experiencing. Must go now. Lots of love to you both. Take care. Dad and Evelyn. XXXXX

hi both. vietnam sounds amazing, the post cards give us a good giggle but the way you describe everything so vividly means we get a real feel for the place. the sunshine and colours give a real lift to our cold winter days. last time i posted we were all ill, well no change there, i've had a real stinker of a cold all over half term. the up side for andrew and the kids was that i lost my voice for three days, squeeks were all they got. poor old andrew had to keep the kids entertained by himself whilst i became an expert in day time tv. jon and lucy have had their baby, a little boy called oliver, weighing in at 8lb 4. lucy had to have a c section in the end. my car has gone into be fixed and i've been given a bright green ka which has been foundly christened the apple, although it looks more like a pea (are you getting a good idea of just how green this car is?) we're getting ready to watch the rugby this afternoon wales v ireland i think we're wathching it at friends who've got a big screen. england lost to scotland yesterday, shattering their chances of a grand slam. i'm of for some physio first because i've strained my neck from coughing so much this week. heres hoping we're all well next week and we've actually had the chance to get out and about and have some decent news for you. ffion and josef are missing you both lots. but they are going to smile nicely for a st davids day photo and sent it to you.
all our love ceri andrew ffion and josef xxxx
Claire & Steve
Hiya. We are coming to the final part of our Vietnam trip having travelled down from Hanoi visiting various places in between. We are finishing off in Saigon where we will be meeting up with a friend who lives there before crossing the border into Cambodia next week. We are far too busy enjoying ourselves to have updated the postcard or photo pages but will aim to do this in Saigon. The weather is lovely and warm and lying on the beach all day really took it out of us!!! We have managed to have an injury free week apart from the obligatory insect bites and hangovers. We hope you are all well, its good to hear from you no matter how mundane you may think your messages are. Well, we are off to get showered before dinner...we are in the kitsch capital of Vietnam (Dalat) so everything is very bright and welcoming. Keep in touch and take care everybody. Bye for now xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Steve & Claire, Your travel stories sound very exciting...exploring the Great Wall, the Forebidden City, Tiannemen Square...all part of history, ancient and recent. It is great that you had successfully completed your sojourn in China, of course with some minor injuries. It is part of the business. Sometimes I marvel the great adventurous expeditions of the ancient travellers like Vasco de Gamma & Megellen. They had suffered several setbacks yet they defied to accept defeat. I also appreciate your "NEVER SAY DIE" spirit. I thank you both for giving me very rich information about the places you visited; Claire has a flair for narrating everything very vividly. I am also delighted to learn more about your culture, life styles, customs from the message board and above all I compliment you all to have very intimate family relationship. Please keep it up. Be Safe. God bless you all. Loads of love from Benny, Laly, Aswin & Alka

hiya, just catching up with your travels whilst on my lunch break. i'm off to glasow on monday for 2 weeks with work, i'm quite looking forward to that. i've been told that its really good for shopping so i'll have to find time away from the pensioners to find out, so much for me saving money! Haven't been up to much since i spoke to you last, i'm off out on Saturday night for the first time this year for Helen's birthday, so i'm off to town after work to find something new to wear. don't think i've got any more news for you, and i'm a bit short on the gossip, hopefully i'll have more to say when i go on my little trip. hope your both keeping well and enjoying your adventures, missing you lots, love lynsey xx

hello both, what on earth are you doing? every time you get in touch one or the other of you has injured yourselves. we're not doing to well here either, i was ill the end of last week with a migraine, ffion was uwell at the start of this week with a temp and sore throat. andrew is off now with tonsilitis, very bad couldn't swallow this morning and sounds alot like darth vader. touch wood joe has been fine. hoping eveybody will be well next week for half term holidays. josef had his ent appointment and has been put on the waiting list for grommets. they've put him on the soon as list rather than the long waiting list so hopefully he'll be called in quite quickly. the only down side is it's coming to the end of the financial year so there's not much money available in the budget for non emergencies. jon and lucy's baby is now a week over due, she was fed up last week so she must be evil this week (she likes punctuality and organisation) haven't really been upto much what with all the illness. however did bump the car on the school run this mornig. a very nice lady who was illegally parked opened her door into my car as i was driving past. my passenger wing and door is all dented the indicator light is missing as is part of the wing mirror. her door is quite crumpled and won't shut properly. everybody involved okay though. hopefully next week our news will be a bit more exciting and up beat. take care of each other, love ceri andrew ffion and josef xxx
ps hope you had a lovely romantic valentines day.
Mum (Wales)
Well hi travellers you sound as if you are having a great time if not a little accident prone. Your postcards are really interesting and informative. Today its Valentines day hope you remembered, I am still waiting for the postman to deliver our normal sack-load of cards!!! or bills more like. Granny and I have now booked our little break to Italy we go the last week in March so it should be nice Spring weather, only problem the bird flu has arrived in Italy (and Greece and Bulgaria) so I hope it doesn't interfere with travelling to much. There are experts popping up on the daytime tv programmes advising you about precautions to take etc so its a case of enjoy but be aware. Granny had her check up at the hospital after her fall, everything is settling down, the swelling is reducing and is no longer painful but the Consultant told her to rest and do simple exercises to strengthen her leg muscle so she should be ok. After her check up in Morriston we called to see her sister Doreen who has now changed her name to Alice, why we do not know, but at 85 years old hey I think you can call yourself what you want. It was really funny because Granny kept on calling her Doreen and talking about their childhood and then Doreen (sorry Alice) kept on correcting her, Granny said after 80 odd years she would never get used to it. Needless to say I sat there dreaming of vodka and coke and a lovely deserted beach with the ocean gently lapping at my feet. I wished that granny could have a little flat like Alice, it was ideal, and very safe for those of increasing years.
Ffion and Josef are busy practising for St David's day concerts in school, on Sunday we had a little show of songs from them. Ffion sang about colours in Welsh and also a song about paracetamol I wasn't too sure about this but apparently it was correct and was a song about how to make yourself better if you are unwell. Josef did well to, his speech is improving all the time and he is making up quite long sentences, sometimes you have to think what he is trying to say but once you grasp that you can follow him ok. Andrew is bringing him up to me later on this morning so we will be chating away, I think sometimes he must wish I would shut up as I keep asking him questions to encourage his speech and all he wants to do is play or watch tv but I do persevere. Well its time for me to go now, breakfast, cleaning, the washing and ironing are all crying out for me and as its my day off I should be busy, but I think I will go to Gorseinon first to bank Steve's cheque.
Keep on enjoying making sure it safe first of course, lots of love Mum xxxxx

i take it you've set some kind of sensitivity thing on this website, i wasn't swearing, honest! i know you'll know who i mean, but for everbody else, its the chimney sweep from mary poppins. I've just come on to see if you've emailed about the buddha, but you haven't. i'll just update you quickly on the latest news. Granny is staying with us at the moment. She fell up the Kitchen steps and has hurt her knee. We spent Thursday night in Morriston casualty, didn't get out from there until 4 am. She's ok though, nothing broken, just fluid around the knee making it a bit painful and hard to walk. Going to go now and watch Celebrity Dancing on Ice, sad i know, but i'm hooked, your missing out!! love lynsey

hi both, hope your keeping well and the injuries aren't causing you too many problems. ffion had her first drama lesson this week and she loved it, she had to be a zebra. there was a lot of giggling, chat and noise involved. josef has had his first school gym lesson, although when asked how gym was he asked who's jim? both kids are very excited because we've just confirmed our booking for st austell in may. 4 days in a caravan sounds like a great adventure when your 3 and 6 years old. it does look really nice, it's right on the beach there's an indoor swimming pool and it's close to a lot of cornwalls big attractions. diets not going well, too cold and the need for stodge is too great. perhaps the thought of summer holidays and the idea of wearing bathers in public will terrify me into action. we're all getting ready for the big game on sat the kids are wrapping up warm with their welsh hats and scarfs already. hope you'll be cheering wales on from where ever you are. (i suppose you can cheer england steve, but remember it's wales for all the other games). sorry we missed your call on sunday but hope to speak to you next time. all our love ceri andrew ffion and josef xxxx
