Ello, at least it wasn't Pete that turned up in Bournemouth to surprise him, I think poor Ben got the shock of his life last year when he turned up totally unexpectedly on his own at his house !!!!!!!!!! Hope alls good. P.s. I like this message board XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Pettifer!! Happy very belated birthday, lovely. Am completely useless and suddenly realised last night that your birthday had come and gone without me having written. Hope all is well with you both and that you are enjoying yourselves. It certainly sounds like you are having an amazing time. Make sure you have lots of Thai whiskey with redbull and coca cola on my behalf when you get to Thailand! As you can imagine nothing here is in any way as interesting as what you guys are up to (sob!). Am in the process of buying a house which is v cool but the process really is as stressful and irritating as everyone told me it would be. Am looking forward to moving in and decorating and generally being very domestic. Anyway, take care, miss you lots and lots, love to you both from me and Olly xxx

Hi Guys
Ooops...forgot your birthday... What really winds me up about this, is the fact that it had been my intention to 'smuggle' a couple of birthday cards in to your luggage on your last night spent here...but I failed due to alcohol needless to say... So, rather than make up for it by sending an email or posting a message I thought it much more apt to forget the whole thing altogether...sorry... However, we did toast you along with Jacqs & Ben during a wee jaunt to Bournemouth at the weekend in celebration of his birthday. It was great fun down there to be honest as Ben thought he was spending a couple of nights in a posh hotel with just his beloved but of course we had other ideas! In fact, the whole thing was 'cooked up' by the 'Dori' who thought it would be a good idea for Cathy & I to turn up at their room early doors on Saturday avec champagne. This we duly did, the reaction from Ben was as you would expect...distinctly luke warm. Not through ignorance it must be said but solely born of his laid back indifference to most things, coupled with the earliness of the hour & a sizeable hangover from their previous days extravaganza. I jest of course, Ben was chuffed that we had made the effort & we had a top day & night sampling the veritable delights of Bournemouth. Obviously, like your good selves, we visited a great many temples (pubs), a little known wonder of the world (the pier) & of course spent hours playing in the surf. Well, we had a stonking bottle of wine on the beach, in bright sunshine it must be said, whilst laughing our little socks off at the sight of three sadly inept surfers waiting for the perfect wave on what was little more than a millpond...magical. As it happens, the surf was rampant on the Sunday but rather predictably, the surfers were nowhere to be seen!
Ok, time to sign off. We are glad you are having such a great time & contrary to what Ben keeps saying, we are missing you terribly...well, a bit anyway. Finally, I am glad I didn't gloat too much about the England v Wales game (Ben & I were there) as we have been complete & utter rubbish since, losing to the 'hairy ones' from up North & getting trounced by the 'garlic munching, cheese chewing, wine guzzling surrender monkeys' on Sunday...gutted.
Keep up the good work!
Love

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all your lovely birthday messages both on email and on this website - it really meant a lot to me. My birthday was pretty quiet unlike the night before, so woke up with a stinking hangover and then had to get on a bus for 4 hours to travel to Vang Vieng with no air conditioning - not fun when its 35 degrees! I managed to recover enough to play several games of pool quite unsuccessfully, down a shot of lao lao (vile!) and also got a mini chocolate birthday cake complete with candles from the restaurant. So, all in all it was a nice day although I am trying to forget that my next birthday will officially mean the end of my twenties (aaaahhhhh!)
Anyway, we have just arrived in Luang Prabang in Laos so will go off exploring in a mo - just got a glimpse of the night market so will be spending some kip there I think as well as booking some flights on to Bangkok. Take care all xxxxxxx

Greetings lovely people,
Pettifer - Happy Birthday you old git ! Apologies for the delay in getting this message to you. I've been up to my eyes in s*** hole properties that are too expensive to live in - but I guess that's London village for you ! I've also had the parental people up since Saturday, which has been fun, although exhausting ! Also, a belated St.David's Day. It doesn't matter how long I live up here, people still look at you as though you are a little weird when adorning a dafodil on the tube...Uncultured couths ! Sounds like you're having fun, and the pictures are quality. Make sure you keep posting the photo's - they make me feel like I have a life outside of my own which is always a nice little excape. Infact, parts of Delhi remind me of parts of Brixton !! Look after yourselves, and I'll hopefully speak to you soon xxxxx

Dear Puffy, I am a bad bad friend, I had all good intentions of sending you an email on your actual birthday, but I took the day off work to take my husband (Ben) away for his birthday, so therefore it is his fault. I hope you had a wonderful day sweetie, we did think of you and had a drink (or 10) 'with' you! Take care my lovelys - J & B xxxxxxxx
