Hey Everyone!
So after we blogged last time we ran into jerry & Eva who we met on the bus to HCMC. They asked us to dinner & we went & met a few other Dutch people... It was really nice & we've got a lot in common. They were also on our bus to Nha Trang & staying in the same guesthouse! So we all went to vin pearl land yesterday- a water park that you get to via cable car over the sea.. it's so weird!
We went on lots of slides, some more than others & they boys wimped out of one so just me & Eva went on it. I think it's called a half-pipe? The rides name was tsunami so maybe that scared them off?? ;)
We went our for a curry last night as apparently they don't get indian food in Amsterdam but they discovered it whilst travelling through Malaysia & they are addicted to naan bread (like Ken & Lynette!) it was really good & is making us look forward to India & Sri Lanka!
Haven't been eating very "local" this week so will have to get back into it!
Did buy some chicken noodles in an upmarket place, not that we realised that until the portions came & I had a tiny bed of noodles with a chicken breast on top.. Jerry had the same & couldn't believe the tiny portion sizes.
Off to Hoi An today via Danang. Couldn't get the sleeper train as all sold out but found a flight for £40 with Vietnam airways so the 4 of us have booked onto that.
Vietnam doesn't like Facebook so it's real hit & miss if we can use it which sadly means no pictures until we are in Laos... If it even works there!
Sometimes it's on, other times it won't let you connect.. :(
Think we'll spend about 4 days in Hoi An as we are allowed to stay until 20th Dec so can take our time. Think we'll be on Luang Prabang in Laos for Christmas & New Year which we hear is a party place. Thats good as we don't want to be crying into the sand on the beach because We miss you all so we'll get drunk instead, much like you lot! We'll need to get this booked up as places go very fast for Christmas & new year & we don't want to be left on the street!
Anyway, off to get the flight now, 1 hr 15 mins flight just doesn't compare to a 14hr bus ride does it?!
Those who have tries to contact us on viber, the reception is a bit s*** & we can't work out why so might have to arrange to Skype.
Lots of love
Sam & Vickey

Jez Guys, I remember now...Vietnam really doesn't like Facebook! And even more so....hates Paypal! Don't use it, coz it locks you out if you use it from Vietnam. We didn't know, and tried to use Myriam's Paypal to book some accommodation further down the line; locked us out, Myriam then had to call up a UK landline to confirm loads of details to get her account active again. Major hassle. Think it's only Vietnam. Sounds like you're having fun - it's amazing who you meet and where! (you bump into the same people again and again) Much love, J and M xx
