Wat a mission
We're now in Siem Reap, which is further north. We got a bus for $5 which took 6.5 hours.... Not a bad price even you had minus the small kid pulling my hair and shouting "nee may" (which I took to mean are we nearly there yet) in my ear all the way. I was too wimpy to say anything... Classic me! Haha
The guest house is $2 something a night, free pick up from the bus station, free water and the nicest owner! It's difficult to actually think people can be so genuine, especially having lived in London so long.
Spent last night looking around the place and ended up having dinner and a beer in the Market. It seems like there is something for everyone here, bars pumping out music or more chilled places to eat/drink.
Spent the day going around Angkor Wat and the other temples. After hiring bikes to ride around the temples and getting lost about 7km up the road, we decided to back it in and get a tuk tuk driver.... And a good job too!!!
We opted for the shorter tour rather than the grand tour, but this still took all day... God know how long the longer one takes?
We were both amazed at the history and how mind blowing all the
Temples are. I assume they are one of the Wonders of The World?
For those who have visited will know the steps are long, steep and don't have enough space for a whole foot. This wasn't an issue on the way up, but coming down a few times I did almost freeze up and I don't normally have an issue with heights, so Emily and my Mum (Lyn) would have had a bit of a melt down :)
I think with the cycling an climbing up the huge temples our legs will be aching tomorrow.
We did get a little harassed by the little kids trying to sell postcards and bracelets. They were very sweet and I can see the reason behind it, but after 7 hours we were getting a little fed up. Vickey started to get alot more sterner with the "no thank you!" - maybe that has something to do with spending a week in the classroom with Kate? Hehe .
I think we both need to get some fresh breeze in our lungs so are planning to head south to the sea in the next day or so.
Much love Sam and Vickey xxx

Stuart "If it weren't for those pesky kids!".....hey guys! Photos looking good already....not sure about the skulls though, how crazy is that. Glad you're doing good and yes lovin the fashion. Cannot believe the sights Emily and I have seen too...we feel like some fresh air too ;)
Jez Those stone steps are steep and some of them are as vertical as ladders! coupled with only getting half your foot on them, it can make you feel a bit light-headed on your way down! Some of the steps I remember were huge strides up as well? Like the height of 3 normal steps up? Enjoy the sea breeze, party on in Sihanoukville...the beer's cold and cheap (look for happy hour 50c beers) and the food amazingly tasty (get buzzing on all that MSG!) Enjoy. x
Vickey Hey guys! Yeah temples are wicked, saw the legendary "proposal" temple Jez, we kept saying " I wonder if he proposed here etc etc" as we walked around! The tree is mental!! Were staying in otres beach just put of the mental part of sikh- it's so calm & right on the beach, staying in a mushroom hut! Think you & miz would like it! Xxx Stu- you & Em will see many more sights along our travels, don't you worry!!
