Hello Avid readers!
Sooo.... Went out on the Khao San Road with Sally, who I know from work & her husband to be Andy. After many a few "sansome set buckets" - whisky, redbull & coke in a sand bucket we went home a lot worse for ware as we have 4 of them between us all! Andy told us about a VW Bar so we all went off in search of this bar only to find it about 30 seconds from our hotel and it was an actual VW Van parked on the street which has been turned into a bar so the lady serves you from inside the van. It was a stroke of luck finding it as were just about to give up! Andy was very happy!!
We had to fly to phnom penh the following morning so that was a little tough on the hangover but the flight was only an hour on air Asia & we were fed!
We were collected by the hotels resident tuk tuk driver whose tuk tuk was probably the slowest on the road & we got a lot of stares!
Hotel is fine, we have a big room & it's very clean!
It's the water festival in Cambodia at the Moment so EVERYONE is out and about, we took a wander down to the river to watch the fireworks last night and it was sooo busy! Had an early night and all was well until we were woken at 1:30am by some hippy playing his guitar outside our room on the communal balcony, there were a few who all took turns in singing along to the guitar. Unfortunately we were both to shy to tell them to piss off so we put the earplugs in instead! Losers!
Went to the killing fields today & the genocide museum so a thoroughly depressing day had by all!
Off to Siem Reap tomorrow on a 6hr bus ride for $5 but both of us are gagging to hit a beach so going to stay there a few days & head down to the coast
The traffic Is mental here.. Basically, everything you were ever taught about crossing the road- discard! You just have to walk out & they swerve to avoid you- madness! Were getting quite good at it though!

Jez You've got to watch out for those buckets! Lethal cocktails. I still have a picture somehwere of me getting a cocktail from a converted campervan just off the Khao San Road....bet it's the same one?! (at the time 3 ladyboys were serving and weren't particularly convincing! x)

Vickey Hi Jez, yep bet it's the same one! No lady boys there but did get offered "ping pong" on a few occasions!
Vickey Mum & Dad Photies up soon, yep pol pot was a f***er! Quite a shocking experience actually! They believed that to kill the whole plant you have to take up the roots so killed baby's of the victims so they didn't come back for revenge when they were older, pretty sick! Xxx
