Another great day in blazing hot Italy today. We started out with a nice breakfast then took the city bus into the old town of Seina to look around and do the tourist thing. The buildings are tall which helps with shade but when everyone is looking for shade and only walking in the shadows that doesn't leave a lot of room on streets that are already narrow. There a big race coming up in Seina which they do every year. It's where they ride horses bare back around the center arena it a huge event and kinda sad were going to miss it. The locals were getting things ready and decorating the streets selling all sorts of toys and hats and art work all to do with the races. We also saw another very impressive church in the center of town but didn't do the tour cause we were ready to head back and sit by the pool before heading to the train for Florence. Made it back to the hotel got changed for the pool but believe it or not we got rained out for and hour so we just hide undercover and read our books welcoming the nice breeze the rain brought.
We made it to Florence by around 6pm and began battling people all over the place and smokers everywhere we managed to walk to our Hotel in the hot muggy heat. We basically dropped the bags and left again for a recommended restaurant....
1.2 pounds, 0.5kg, 18ounces the biggest best slab of beef I've ever had. So when we were in Nice Don had told me about the Bistecca a la fiorentina a cow that is specific to this region only and that I had to have it. The T bone was huge and looked like they just threw it on the grill flipped it and served it blue rare and it was unbelievable so tender and full of flavor. After flossing my teeth with the bone I finished Tara's pasta lol. I think I'm going to have meat sweats tonight. And to think i had the smallest steak on the menu. Now back at the hotel for Italy vs Germany the town is going crazy right now with the score 2-0. We promised ourselves that we will tour around Florence more relaxed than we did Rome, starting in the am.
