We had a quick breakfast before we headed for the Colosseum. We got there and the line was pretty much around the building. But thanks to my wife and her travellers book and what friends had told her we bought tickets somewhere else for the whole area only 12€ and we literally walk past everyone and no wait at all, thank god. The place is amazing I could go on and on about it but it's better to just witness it yourself. It's huge and totally surreal to see it, and to think that they use to flood the area as well is unbelievable. the amount of marble, travertine granite and brick used is amazing and all the hand carved stone is impressive. We spent about 2.5 hours there we did the audio tour and walked everywhere they would let us. After we had a bite to eat and walked threw the roman forum 12.5 Acres of ruins and garden which was the the original Rome way back even build before the colosseum. Also really neat to see but the heat was hard to bare. The day prior I was doing so well. But today I was handling it better than Tara so I had the camara bag for most of the day to help her out. We made it threw finally a had a few cold beers before heading back on the bus. We rode the whole tour line on the top and just relaxed and took in everything. One things for sure Rome has a lot of history and churches galore. We went back to the hotel hot dusty and sweaty an tired. We had a lovely dinner which all have been great lunches in Italy not so great thou. At least we where finished dinner before 11 this time. So we went back and planned our day for tomorrow . We both had one thing on our mind and right now I'm writing this and enjoying every minute of our decision, sitting pool side in 35degree heat on hill side over looking Sienna Italy.
