Sadly the last day today. Breakfast was a treat of Cheerios in fresh milk! We packed the last of our things then presented our gift to Ibolya as a thanks for having us.
Laszlo soon came to pick us up. It was very sad to leave Meresti! We drove to Odorheiu and settled down into our new accommodation for the one night. We were staying in student university halls this time. Laszlo left to prepare for a presenation which was taking place at the Town Hall. We met him there but the plans rapidly changed which meant that the presentation was no longer going ahead at that particular time. Instead, the four of us left him to it so that we could walk around town. We went into a shop which sold traditional Romanian/Hungarian clothing. Here Simon bought a fine dark green hat, which perfectly suited him! Off we then went to the local bar, to meet Laszlo for lunch. He kindly ordered us pizzas and for myself ravioli pasta in mushroom sauce. Paul from AGORA joined us which was a lovely surprise!
We then went back to the apartment to nap for a bit. The boys came round to sign Laszlo's card and prepare his presents. Much faffing went on there, BTCV style! We watched a strange episode of Midsummer Murders, with Romanian subtitles until we needed to leave for dinner.
Dinner was at the familiar sight that was Select. For our last Romanian meal, we had a plate of beans (similar to baked beans) with a small slice of gammon. After dinner, we gave Laszlo his present, which he was very chuffed with.
We headed back to the apartment, where we packed and collapsed in bed, forelornly, at 10pm. We had a horrific and rude awakening by the alarm clock four hours later. Laszlo came to pick us up to take us to the airport at 2.30am. We were all very bleary eyed! Very quickly did we tumble into the car, mentally bidding farewell to Odorheiu and Romania. All very surreal that we were actually leaving. The drive to Transylvania Airport took us two hours. The flight was at 6.10am so we said our goodbyes to Laszlo and queued up to check in.
