Wake up on the 2nd, had really good night sleep but still feeling jetlagged. Yday had booked to go on day tour so tour bus picks us up from hotel after breakfast -turns out that me and sian are the only english in a bus with about 30 koreans!head to a local market that is on train tracks, it made us feel abit sick as was under these big sheets and loads of fish andmeat with flies on-very clautraphobis in the heat!we thought that when the train came along everyone would move all their stuff but it got to 2minutes before the train came and they only moved the odd basket orpair of shoes and the train went over all the stuff, a little disappointing but good to see. Then we went to Amphawa floating market- nice shops and then have amassage, i loved it as really dug hard but sian was traumatised bythe whole thing! At dusk we got on a river boat and went to see the fireflies in the bushes along the river, every now and again the driver would pull over to a flashing bush and grab some fireflirs and put them in our hands, it was really wonderful like xmas trees. head back to koa san and get taxi with cobb, sweeney and nadia to ping pong shoe - very disturbing - razor blades, cigarettes and ping pongs shooting out of ladies bits!!me and sianneededsome relaxation afterwards so had a foot massage then i had a back massage from a thai man which turn into a full bodymassage, lots of digging and cracking, right up my street - think he was shocked!then watch england game in gullivers. (3rdsep) Took a tuk tuk to the Golden Mountain, a buddhist worship place with views of Bangkok - 200fthigh then we went to the Standing Buddha as we were told to touch his toes for good luck on our travels, then back to koh san for abit of shopping, got some havaiana sandals very comfy, killed time having dinner before l;eaving bangkok. As we were waiting for the night bus to take us to pier to go over to koh tao the heavens opened and we had to walk through overflowing sewers and massive flooding to get to the bus -had an 8hour journey in very damp clothes!
