Had a brilliant first few days. Long day of travelling on Wednesday but eventually made it to Bangkok Airport, waited a while for Matt(Sians bf) and Sweeney(Matts friend) to meet us as they were stuck in Bangkok rush hour traffic. All get taxi to our hotel(Vietnam-Thai), very swanky with gym and lovely pool - Matt and Sweeney in shock as havnt had a bath in weeks! Dump stuff then head to Kaoh San road which is the next street on from hotel, M and S introduce us to their friend Nadya who works in travel agents on K-S Road, all head out for dinner in Lucky Bar - have Penang Curry and all share lager beer tower, then head to Bucket bar - very strong cocktails!Play pool in Irish bar, everyone sing happy birthday - Sweeney got me tequila and sambuca, end up in Kaoh San club dont remember too much more but wicked first night!!! Wake up on my birthday with a mega hangover, open bday cards and presents - M and S come to meet us and head to get food for lunch- Padtai and fresh pineapple - reall nice although makes a reappearance down K-S not a good start! Have a fish spa then treat myself to a birthday pedicure and manicure then book some trips for next few weeks with Nadya. In evening all get in taxi to MBK - massive shopping centre for all you can eat thai buffet - tried Octopus. Fungus(rank), pgs liver(nice) squid topped off by lush strawberry whippy!Head back to Kao San for more buckets and lady boy spotting and try some crickets(like chicken)and water grub(disgusting) then to club again where see some pretty dodgy looking lady boys, go back to hotel at half 2ish, have cheeky BK chicken royale!
