Arrive at pier really early -all knackered but watch sunrise and lovely rainbow. 2hour boat ride to Koh Tao, taxi to Coral Grand - our home for next 4 days while we do our scuba diving course, lush pool and right next to beach. Slept until 3oclock then had our introduction, meet our instructor -John.Had to do homework for tom, did that then headed into town for dinner - went to Choppers bar, had lush chicken with wedges and cocktails! Walked back along beach in the eve, so lush -all bars and restaurants all lit up and lanterns-really pretty and chilled. Have a swim in the pool then go to bed. Me and Sian woken up at 1.30 by Matt in panic -the pipe on our sink tap had burst and water was gushing all over the floor - beds and mattresses were soaked, matt thought he was in a horror film as stood up in the dark straight into amassive puddle and couldnt workout where he was. Had to pack our stuff and move rooms in the middleof the night - Ive now got my own double room, very nice.

Get up for 2nd day of diving course, had to get all equipment measured up ie fins mask wet suit - i get lumbered with a scudgy old wet suit while all the others get shiny new ones - typical! Diving was better than i thought, didnt think id be any good but got it all. Spent 5 hours in pool learning skills, on course with s, matt and 2 canadian girls - quinn and kate Kirby who seem really nice, as there is 5 of us I am buddies with john the instructor. Get some drink, go back to bungalow and play cards -sian = card gooba of the day!

(6th sept) Have been really badly bitten in the night and have sunbrun already, not good. Meet scuba group after lunch, head out to first dive sight - was quite stressful to start with but really cool once we were under the water - loads -sea is lush and colourful fish -diving was weird experience ut really glad we are learning it- then head to dive sight too - go down deeper and do skills underwater, getting the hand of it by now. Notallowed camerason thebottom deck sono photos of us in our sexy scuba gear! As we go up tothe surface sian and matt almost get ploughed into by massive fishing boat - s dropped her googles and snorkle, john had to dive down to get them - he is abit stressy but good teacher. When we get back to hotel discover i have 3rd degreeburns(sorry dad!) so now im two tone - white and red with itchy bites, yum! Seelots of ladyboys wearing next to nothing prossie outfits, me and sian dont know where to look!watch fire show on beach, get back to rooms, m and s have massive creepy bug in their room.
