Now thanks to Busabout I would of never discovered this place. Now 45mins from la Spenzia is a place called Cinque Terre. It is a secret paradise, of five old fishing villages (though we saw no signs of fishing) which cling to the mountainous shores of the Ta Liguvia Coat and is connected via a 'walking' trail.We found accommodation out of town which consisted of a canvas tent with two bed in it, we weren't complaining until a friendly scorpion decided to visit us. Due to our lack of light (eg torch) it was an early bed at 9pm when the sun final set.We told about this amazing walking trail through the 5 villages and so with our water, bathers and runners we set off. Detox was the idea. Now this trail was good, a nice pleasant walk on flat surface, however after an hour, it started to steep upward and become rock and sand. We saw people in hiking boots and those walking poles, we just thought they were old and needed them. ….3.5 hrs later, dripping with sweat (may I add it was 35-40 degrees, no lie) nearly passing out we reached the fourth village. It was swim time. And god we needed it. We shouldn't of stopped. The last leg of the HIKE was the worst, our legs now felt like jelly and we had to make the last stretch. All I can say is oh my god. Yes yes the scenery was beautiful; we were so high up the mountain, but oh my god. All in all a great experience and im so glad we did it but after 4.5hr in the sun, heat and climbing a mountain I was dead. Totally recommend it to all.Detox complete.The next day we woke up early with sore leg and then caught the bus to Nice, had a quiet night. However cooked up a storm as we were so excited to see a kitchen we cooked the pasta that we had been caring from Croatia.
