Evening all, steven here. Well im glad to report the cold which has been going round camp has finally been passed on to me . The day started badly with Thomas forgetting the passports after getting down to the docks to book our crossing to Rome and realising that we needed them to book the tickets. We finally managed to get them booked later in the day for less than we thought they were going to cost. The day went well for a little while after this with the 3 of us going to Gaudi´s Parc Guell and I got my picture done with the lizard which i was very pleased about. The Parc was very impressive, especially the views across Barcelona where we enjoyed our little picnik. From here on in the day started to go down hill a little. The next stop was Gaudi´s cathedral and climbing the spires. We paid 8 euros to get in and we all came to agreement this was a rip off as there was pretty much nothing to see inside. We also paid 2.5 euros and took the lift up to the top of one of the spires and made our way down via a rather steep spiral staircase which i CERTAINLY didnt enjoy!! We went for a quick drink along Las Ramblas before heading to see the dancing fountains and Parc Joan Miro. We firstly went to the parc which was very disappointing as we didnt really see anything except for some bats. Then made our way to the dancing fountains which we were looking forward to after being recommended going and seeing pictures on postcards along the way. When we got there however it was just our luck to find that during the winter the fountains only did there dancing on fridays and saturdays between 7 and 9. We were all a little disappointed to say the least. We kept our moods up with guessing how many stairs there were leading up to the royal palace. 1 good thing about the day though was the weather, it was by far the hottest day we have had and we are all topping up our tans very nicely. I shall now pass you over to mr penley for his insights. adios.
Good evening. Not much i can add to Steve´s accurate description however i did feel very bad about making us walk all the way down to the port without the passports and for the next 30 minutes no one really spoke to each other. That time was a little tense! Anyway i really love Gaudi after seeing his works and the views from his park were amazing. Also mum you were right walking along Las Ramblas is brilliant. Nothing else to add except i can´t wait till tomorrow when Steve and I head to the Nou Camp! Anna regretfully informed us she would be unavailable and instead has decided to write a chapter in the "Jane Browne Book of Shopping". Although i doubt she will be "flexing the card" to quite the same extent as the Author of the afor mentioned book.
So your up to date, no blog tomorrow as were getting the ferry across to Rome. We´re all praying we dont get seasick because that would definitly be the longest 19 hours of my life! So bye for now.
