hey, Anna here (finally as the boys would say). However, i would like to start by defending myself about their mean comment about "i wasnt bothered to write on this blog" last time I was going to do it but thomas, being the lovely boy he is, gave me his cold and its a right stinker!! Felt awful and so they said I could lie down in bed and they would right it instead! Still feeling crap so just steve to get it now, and hes really looking forward to it.
Right so the update- we got the train yesterday to Barcelona. Steve got very excited about the fact that it went over 180mph and insisted I tell you all that. our hostal is just south of Catalunya down what looks a dingy allyway but is actually very nice. although having been spoilt by the madrid dorm with 4 beds and nice ensuite shower this one with 16 beds in our room alone and 3 showers for the whole hostel was a bit more of a shock. only went for a wander yesterday eve to suss out where places were and discovered that barcelona on a saturday is heaving! Went to a lovely resturant last night "La teberna de cobra" and then had a relatively early night.
Today was a bit of a nightmare starting out with forgetting it was a sunday and no shops whatso ever are open, not even supermarkets so breakfast was interesting! Also as it was the first sunday of the month most of the places to see are free admission and even though this was great the queues were so long it was ridiculous so decide to do them tomorrow when it wont be nearly as busy. We did however begin to increase our culture knowledge by going to see the Gaudi Cathedral which was amazing (although we are going back tomorrow to climb the spires). We also saw the Gaudi Casa Mila La Pedrera which was also a amazing building whose balconies look like lots of waves. We also headed to the Gaudi Casa Batllo which isvery colourful and looks like a fish (is quite expensive to go inside so not sure if we are going to or not yet, think we will decide later tmw although if any of you would strongly recommend that its worth the money then we´ll head there). It actually turns out that we did see quite a lot today even though i said earlier we are doing most tomorrow as we also headed to the Parc De La Ciutadella where the Guadi Cascades is. Again it was very hot today and clever Thomas forgot the suncream so Steve was livid!! We ended the day sitting on the beach was was really relaxing and then headed back to the hostel to cook pasta.
Tomorrow morning we have to faf about trying to sort out booking our ferry ticket to italy which so far has been extremely unsucessful, it took us half an hour to find out where the port was let alone where to get the tickets from!! once we´ve sorted that we are going to go to the Picasso Museum, back to the Gaudi Cathedral to head up the spires and a few other things but i´ll let steve tell you as he´s very excited about a certain gaudi reptile!
Finally, I am no longer known as Anna "the card shark" browne as thomas has been seriously jammy recently and has now stormed into the lead much to steve´s and my disgust. For those of you who know thomas well you can imagine how much happier he is now that he´s winning!!
Hola steve here now. I have been very excited mainly by Gaudi in Barcelona, he (i was going to put in a back slash there but can´t for the life of me find it on this spanish keyboard!!) and his buildings are great. Also a certain lizard which im very excited about having my picture taken with tomorrow. Today it was a picture with a wooley mamoth and tomorrow it is a Gaudi lizard and that makes Steven a happy boy!! I would just like to add that I had a white wash victory in Jack Snap today, clearly I have far supperior reactions than the other 2 slow coaches im travelling with. I shall now pass you over to thomas for a quick word. adios amigos!
Hi just to say well done bro for the football and hope your knee gets better soon. bye
