Landed at ~6.45am, disembarked and sauntered through customs & baggage reclaim with little delay. Phoned car rental company and waited outside for 30 minutes for pick up. Felt cold for the first time in a month!
Short drive to rental office, 10 mins to complete paperwork, then we were off! Took a few mins to get used to driving, especially as the car's an automatic. Kids fell asleep within a few minutes - so a quiet and peaceful drive for half an hour or so, until L decided she needed a coffee!
Stopped off at Sublime Point Lookout - great view of the coastline. Café closed & empty, so drove a little further to the information centre. Bought very expensive coffees & hot chocolates ($16) and acquired useful maps.
Arrived in Jamberoo ~30 minutes later, and found Dave & Kate's house. Introduced J&M to Kate and the boys, and Millie the dog!
Kids a little shy to start with, until 12.11pm, precisely, when J discovered that the boys were also Dr Who fans! J even more delighted to discover that he could watch the episodes that we missed when we left the UK on the computer, and that the series finale was due to be broadcast here on Saturday night! J & the boys sat glued to the computer for a couple of hours, watching 3 episodes of Dr Who.
M played with Millie, while D&L chatted to Kate.
Eventually dragged the boys away from the computer, and drove into Kiama, to see the blowhole. Tried to get to saddleback Mountain lookout, but far too cloudy.
Dave returned from work at 5, then we all sat down for a big family meal - Kate's beef stew & mashed spuds! After eating, kids watched an episode of Primeval, then went to bed. Adults chatted for a couple of hours before turning in.
