Slow start to the day, as D&L were tired after staying up until 2am watching TV! D received the final cinnamon bun as his "birthday cake", as well as a "Super Daddy" comic from J, & a lollypop from M! Ate breakfast at the restaurant 2 doors from the hotel: hotcakes (D,L&M) & cereal (J). Went back to the hotel, & enquired about the nearby thermal pools, but received a confusing reply, that the pools were "two bus rides away". On asking a taxi driver, however, he offered to take us there for M$30, so we jumped into his taxi, & drove out of town, past the ruins, & were soon at "La Sidre" water park. M$120 entrance fee paid, we entered & found the changing rooms. There were 4 pools, 2 large & 2 smaller, & none of them were warm! We ended up choosing a shallow pool with 4 slides, & the kids played happily in the not very clean looking water for an hour, while D&L sat chatting by the side of the pool. Once we were dried & dressed, we hailed a taxi back into town (M$40) & went to a nice coffee shop for drinks (D's coconut & strawberry frappe was delicious). We then returned to our room, & the kids played on the computer, while D&L watched "Notting Hill" on TV.
For tea, we tried to go to a pizzeria that we had passed on our way to Christo Rey, but it was closed, so we ended up at Danny's Pizzas, where we ordered two "family" sized pizzas, & 4 portions of chips. When the pizzas arrived, they were huge, & explained the waiter's questioning of our order, as he asked us several times if we meant two!!
Very full, & with half a pizza in a take away box, we returned to the hotel room & turned in for the night.
