Ate cold pizza for breakfast in the hotel room, & the kids did their schoolwork. Then we went into town to buy bus tickets for the 11.05am bus back to Guadalajara. As there was an hour before departure, we returned to the nice coffee shop for a drink, then grabbed our bags from the room, & caught the bus.
On arriving at the "New" bus station, we bought a taxi ticket (M$135) to transfer us to the "Old" bus station, to catch the bus to Chapala. The taxi driver, however, told us that he would take us there for another M$200, in half the time (for only an extra M$50 over the price of the bus tickets). Half an hour later, he dropped us at the main square, & we walked a short way to the pier, where the LP said that there was a tourist information kiosk. There wasn't, so after a fruitless search of the lakefront, we walked back towards the centre of town, & saw a sign pointing to a hotel mentioned in the guide. The Rincon de los Suenos looked closed when we reached it, but we rang the bell, & were let in! The room (M$680/night) was small & plain, but functional, & the overall décor of the hotel was minimalist, yet stylish!
Once we had paid for the night, & put our bags in the room, we went out to explore Chapala. We found a good value restaurant for tea, & had a wander along the lakeshore, through the market, & the kids played for a while in the park. Then we returned to the hotel, & settled down for the night.
