Today, we hopped on boat to Koh Phi Phi, I felt really sea sick, so Sam took me up to the deck to get some fresh air, the rain was ridiculously heavy and the waves were stupidly choppy, the boat was tipping harshly back and forth and water was sloshing around on the deck and over my feet. I got pretty wet, but it was just the cooling I needed. The boat was sailing in a zig zag, and Sam said something about that being a way to sail through a harsh current.
We found a hotel and dried off. Phi Phi is pretty touristy with shops but the beach views are incredible. We grabbed some dinner and then I bought a budget booze bucket with a whole 300ml bottle of cheap Sangsom rum, ice, coke and red bull for like £3.
After pre drinks at the hotel, we hit a Reggae bar where there was a Thai boxing ring sitting in the middle of the joint! The 'waiter' kept trying to get me to fight. And after a while of convincing, I agreed. He couldn't find me a match first and even after standing in the ring with him holding my arm in the air, to find a competitor, nothing. Eventually he got me one of the lady bartenders who was willing. I padded up, got in the zone, the bell went off and the Thai boxing music began. I won the first two rounds, but she began to get frustrated and went crazy in the third round and majorly won that, so we drew over all. It was so tiring, with three 1 minute rounds. It doesn't sound that long, but at the end I almost threw up and could barely hold myself up from exhaustion. Isaac also fought and thrashed the guy.
Still knackered but pushing through, we continued our night at Slinkys, a bar on the beach, which had a giant veiny model penis sticking out of the sand for god knows what reason, it however, was a brilliant meeting spot. Mid night the monsoon rain hit and the strongest winds came about, I was literally almost blown away. We got soaked and stayed for a little but ended up going back soon after as it was freezing! Completely surreal but amazing first night!
