Hi!

A very quick blog to go with some pictures I have uploaded! I wasnt going to come online today but the festival was so amazing I had to tell you all about it!

We all went to the Mud and Rice festival today somewhere in the middle of the Himalayas in the rain! It was such and incredible atmosphere as well! There was singing and dancing, and me and Philippa got "dragged" into joining in which was fantastic! We then walked through lots of mud and got given flowers by the local women before we reached the paddy fields. There was literally a massive square in the middle which was a mud bath!! There were buffalo in it as well pulling carts and before we knew it we were in the middle of it having a huge mud fight!

It was great fun, and we had races through the mud and everything!

When it was time to clean off we walked back through the muddy paddy fields to the lake and got in and had a swim! The water was so cold but absolutely fantastic and the current was so strong we were all holding onto each other for dear life! It was amazing how clean we actually got!

We then had lunch served on banana skins and sweet Nepali tea (which tasted just like hot sugar!) Getting changed into dry clothes in the middle of the corn field was rather amusing!

We got the local bus home - and really wanted to sit on the roof but the ladders were broken :( We got off and walked back and stopped at a samosa man and had onion bahjis and samosas which cost less than 10p for 5!

At least now I'm showered and feel a little bit cleaner.
