So this past week my parents were in Sevilla! They came on Tuesday and stayed the week and then we went to Tarifa, Spain. My Uncle Dave and Aunt Angie were supposed to meet us out here but my uncle hurt his knee so they were unable to make it which was a bummer. But during the week I just showed my parents around the city and they got to see what I have been doing the past two months! I took them to my school, my house, and some of the hot spots around town. Then on Friday we set off for Tarifa for the weekend. We drove through some of the white towns on the way there which is said so be what Americans view Spain as. I thought they were very pretty but there wasnt much to do once you got inside them. We got to Tarifa and walked around a but and had dinner and then the next day drove to Gibraltar and Marbella! It was raining all day and we wanted to go on the Rock of Gibraltar but we were afraid we wouldnt be able to see Africa so we drove to Marbella first. When we got there is was still raining so we just walked around for a bit, had a coffee and then drove back to Gibraltar. When we got there we took a tour with a great tour guide named Adrian. We walked around St. Michael's Cave which is a huge cave naturally made and they used it during wars for hospitals, protection, etc. Now they use it for tours and even concerts! We then got to see the monkeys! My dad had a lot of fun with them, but my mom and I didnt really want to touch them. My dad let one sit on his head and our tour guys even had the monkey drive the car! We went to a lookout point where we could see Tangiers, Africa and the Mediterranean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean, and the other side of Spain sticking out all from one place! It was very cool. Then we continued on our tou to some of the tunnels that were made and used during war to hide in and set up canons to fire at the opponent. These were very big. We also had a traditional english fish fry there which was very good and then headed back to Tarifa. The next day we drove back to Sevilla after shopping around for a bit and went to the Plaza de Espana which is the picture in this blog! I hadnt had the time to go there and I really wanted to; it was well worth it. We also went out to the bar with my host family and roommate and then went to a great bar my uncle somehow found online to watch the Packer game! We met some great people from Wisconsin there. Other than that we are just touring around Sevilla and just hanging out. Tonight my parents are coming to my house for a home cooked meal rfom my house mom! and then tomorrow morning they leave and I wont see them again until December 18th! I go to Morocco on Friday morning for about a week and then like a day later, England! There will be lots to write about coming up!
Thing I miss the most: Sleeping in
High point of the day: getting to take a nap
Low point of the day: running into every delay possible on the way to school, metro, bikes, etc.
Something I learned today: It really does rain in Sevilla!
