On Friday after spending a day or two in Galway we went off to Connemara for Nickis wedding. It was about a two hours out of Galway and the drive was absolutely stunning, huge mountains and rivers, the landscape was unlike anything we had ever seen, everyone at the wedding kept assuring us that this was the "real Ireland". We were running very very late for the wedding and had about one minute to get changed before heading to the church. Lucky for us, (not Nicki of course) the bridal car broke down on the way to the church, so us being fifteen minutes late didn't interrupt the ceremony. After the wedding we went to a small local pub and had a few pints of Guinness before heading back to the hotel. The wedding was really traditional Irish, and went for the whole weekend, with most people not heading to bed until the sun rose the next day. We had beautiful five course meals every night and there was a live band playing traditional Irish. Everyone was so friendly we had an amazing time!
