Today we started by walking across the Sangklaburi Wooden Bridge to the Mon Village. This is the same bridge i did a couple of days ago. The Bridge was constructed in 1953 to join Thai and Mon communities to increase and commercial gains.. The Mon community have their Origins in Burma, but were forced from their homeland due to Political unrest many years ago. The Thai government aloud them to set up communities of their own within Thailand. The Community in Sangklaburi are considered to be the first Mon community outside Burma. The community was set up by a very Famous Mon Monk who many Mon people pilgrimage to his burial site to thank for his good deeds.. All the Mon trmples in this area were built on his orders/direction. They are vastly different from the Temples we have already seen!
In the afternoon, as a group we had a really relax afternoon rafting down a river on Bamboo Rafts, it lasted about 2-3hours, it was good fun and a good way to spend our last day in Sangklaburi.
