Day 23 - Had to be up early tonight as i was going Elephant Trekking. At first i wasnt sure what to expect, but on first seeing this Elephants you can understand why people are drawn to see them! I was blown away at first, they are amazing creatures!! There was 4 elephants 1 male and 3 females, they all seemed to have their own personalities, the 2 smallest females seemed to be really cheeky and demanding of attention while the male really was interested in anyone or anything! I ended up riding the male, which when i found out he didnt require a rider i found myself feel quite anxious! I was told to sit behind his ears with my legs hanging down his neck.. He basically was as good as gold he just followed the trail. Towards the end tho when we had to wade through a lake he decided to be a little stubborn, and decided to splash water at his master who was calling him to move!! Was quite funny...Through our Tour Guide i was interested to see why the elephants are not in the wild and weather they enjoy what their doing. Apparently the 4 elephants they have are elephants who were abandoned bu their mums in the wild so have been raised by their Human Masters.. In regards to weather they enjoy it, the trekking is used as exercise as this is what they would be doing in the wild and also elephants flap their ears when they excited and there was a lot of that going on during the water and feeding parts.... It was defiantly a highlight for me :-)
