1 Month and 26 Days...
We wanted to share some of our plans for Paris - the City of Light, The City of Love, The City of 100 million Desktop Backgrounds.
Besides just walking, gawking and taking copious pictures of famous landmarks - we've booked a few tours to help us check some items off our bucket list in Paris and Northern France.
We will be arriving via Chunnel from London, and staying at the Radisson Blu Ambassador Hotel Paris Opera - it looks like this: http://www.radissonblu.com/ambassadorhotel-paris
It is located right in the heart of Paris, on a typical Parisian-style cafe lined street rife with boulangeries, patisseries, boutiques and magasins!
Ooh La La! Let's hope years of Quebecois-Francais will help us communicate with the Parisians. Wonder if I still own any livres/cahiers?
We will stand in front of the Eiffel Tower and take our own desktop background/Facebook cover shots. We'll head over to the Louvre, and probably melt to the ground in front of the artwork at the Musee D'Orsay. We'll stroll under the Arc de Triomph and walk for miles along the Champs De Elysee.
We are excited to announce that we've booked a full day tour to see Louis XIV's extraordinary Palace of Versailles! Check that off the top of the Bucket List!
We have also made plans to spend a day touring the 'War Beaches' in Normandy. This is actually something Mom and I had always talked about doing, as it has particular significance to our family history. My Grandfather, Roy Teatero, was just 17 (yes, 17!) when he joined the Navy and the war efforts abroad. He experienced battle in France, and recalled vividly the accounts of D-Day from the water. We will pay tribute to his courage, and to the millions of Canadians who gave their life on the final battle field of WW2... the beaches in Northern France.
That's the Plan! 4 Days in Paris will go by very quickly...
