Well the cateogry for this entry has to be natural wonders. Last night I slept in a mud hut next to a lemon tree in a carrot field! This was our dorm outing. I was glad to have Beth there, who has just joined me in helping with Silverdale, so that I had someone to grab onto when I got scared. I was amazed that the girl who once used to prefer to lock herself in the car to eat her sandwhiches rather than sit out with the wasps on family holidays could calmly shine a beam of torch light onto a humungous spider..I'm talking the size of an actual lemon, pretty much..without actually screaming! This happened in our first hour in the "shed", but it was soon killed by my flip-flop, which I'm slightly hesitant about wearing! So the first couple of hours of trying to sleep pretty much involved hallucinations of lots of big fluffy spiders on my face, but we soon found our little hut fairly cosy. We basically just put newspaper over the earth we slept on and had our sleeping bags. The kids were really sweet. They loved it and were only occasionally scared. Me and Beth had little Philemon tucked up between us and it was a comfort to know he looked to us for protection almost. So felt like a real dorm trecker, singing kumbya and even bringing our own tuck! It was good fun..I'll have to get a picture of the little shed to show you. Just about to go shopping and out for lunch in Ooty. Take care..lots of love xxxxx
