When you're fed up with the fact that you don't see any celebrities anywhere, there is one thing you can do: go to that one place where they have wax statues of all the great names out there. Madame Tussauds. Of course we had to do that. Neither Netteh or I have ever been in one of those and that while I pass one every single time I have to go to work. So there we went. Not only did it have the celebrities we liked, it also had a lot of American history which is always preferred by Netteh and me.
We both knew that this event was something for Netteh to kill time with while she was waiting for her boyfriend and my friend Steve, which was a funny event. The thing was that we were supposed to meet each other at the McDonalds here in the Bronx so that we could walk to the hotel with the three of us, but noooo. Mister Weber got lazy and took a cab from Penn station to the hotel! Ha! Oh well, I get it and it was all good in the end.
As soon as Steve arrived (well some time later), we decided to go back on adventure and we were finally going to Staten Island, which we had been waiting for ever since we got to New York. The Island itself isn't all that exciting, but it's about the statue of liberty that lies within the waters you pass with the free Staten Island ferry. And it was about the beauty that you see when you look back at Manhattan, half covered in the fog of the falling evening. It was yet another scene that we didn't think was possible to happen. When you can make it to New York, you can make it anywhere.
In the evening we were supposed to go to a comic show, but because we underestimated the traveling time, we missed it. However, we decided to show Steve around times square and the look on his face was priceless enough to say that he enjoyed it too!
Tomorrow: more times square and probably empire state and meeting up with two foreign friends. Julia for lunch and finally meeting Jesi in the evening!
