Day 48 - 60
The past couple of weeks have been really chilled out. Scarlett tried to get a job fruit picking but after ringing up on her 28th time, they told her there is nothing until mid May so she hasn't given up and is continueing to live like a bum whilst Stu gets up at 5am and goes to work. However, it's very boring and lonely during the day and with only $1000 left, she does nothing exciting anyway.
Last Friday we went to the Great Barrier Reef...it was amazing!! It started off as a gorgeous day and we sunbathed on the sail boat whilst we made the 2 hour journey to Michaelmas Cay... http://www.oceanspirit.com.au/Dive_Snorkel_Australia_Michaelmas.htm if you want to have a look at it. Then we stopped at a small island with millions of bird on it and did some snorkelling. It was so colourful and the fish were gorgeous. Stu spotted a turtle and it was massive! A girl shouted that there was a shark near her so we swam over to see it but it swam away so we missed it! Then we went back on the boat and get our diving gear on. We went down with a guide and two other people. The photographer took pictures of us before we set off and gave us a massive sea slug to hold which was really sticky. The dive was only half an hour and we didn't see as much as we did when we were snorkelling but it was still good. We ate at the buffet, which was cold and we were left with left overs because we'd missed it, and then went on a glass bottom boat. It was like a submarine and we saw another turtle and a white tip reef shark! We had an amazing time, it was definately the best day so far!
We are moving on next friday so we'll keep you all to date!
Miss you! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
