We got up early this morn to see the Irish off and then head out on our la Paz city tour at 8am with the so called Ben. He picked us up from our hostel and then we got another 3 people from the hostel down the road and started the tour. Ben was great! Spoke very good English and knew so much about la Paz it was so so good. He told is all about the history and about the different buildings etc. he was studying tourism at uni in la Paz and did this as a side thing. He took us first to the main new market in la Paz for juice for some breakfast, then saw some of the squares, then he showed us how to get the local transport, these weird little mini van type things that just shout things in the street and we grade to the football stadium. We then walked across to the financial district and through the university and the more built up area of la Paz and tried some local empanadas which were delish. Then he took is to San pedro prison after explaining a lot about it. It's run by the inmates and sounds insane. Then his dad picked us up and we drove to El alto the other city on top of the hills and we had a great view of la Paz. We toured the markets and then visited the shamans and had our fortunes read. I may hurt my arm apparently and might get headaches. Mine wasn't that great a shaman but we went to another one that Chris had and it was great. We then went to grab some lunch/dinner before we got the night bus to Tupiza ready for our salt flats tour to begin.
