Saz and Dave's travels
Today we had a nice lie in, then after breakfast dave, Zac and I headed off for a day on the beach. It's only a 5 minute walk to the beach which is great - we are super lazy! We got beds and an umbrella again which was great and were actually able to swim in the sea today as it wasn't so rough! Zac got a massage from one of the ladies that walk up and down the beach which he said was good (probably 10 times better than the one I got in Chiang Mai!).
We had booked to go onto the night train to Hoi An this evening at 8.45pm so we got a quick shower in a little room at our hotel then went for an early tea at the place next door. It was a pretty rubbish meal. The waiter was hopeless as he took our order then had to come back a further two times to clarify what we had asked for. When the food came the shredded chicken with lemon was buried under a pile of raw onion which made it inedible as all you could taste was the onion. The burger we ordered to replace it was no better as the bun was still half frozen and soggy. When Dave's banana shake hadn't turned up after 45 minutes the amnesic waiter got a piece of paper and wrote in capitals 'RELAX'! It was all a bit strange and we were glad to get in the taxi to the station at 8pm!
On the train there were 4 bunks in each cabin so luckily the three of us were together. We were sharing with one vietnemese businessman who looked absolutely gutted when he walked in and realised he was sharing with us! Because the cabin was quite cramped and the vietnemese guy had one of the lower bunks we couldn't really play cards or anything. Me and Dave got the top bunks which I was pleased about and we all chilled on our bunks and read a bit. Zac also played his guitar for us which he bought in the Mekong Delta for 10 dollars!
We all got to sleep at about 11pm and I think the Vietnemese guy was the last to go to sleep so he had nothing to worry about!
