Well we were lucky with weather ! By 9am we had lift off and 2 very excited 7 yr olds ! We flew up close to Franz Josef glacier and landed on the top. Quite incredible views and worth every dollar - although I had to prize Tane's fingernails out of my jacket at the end. He is not good with the Gs.

From there a power walk around Lake Matheson taking in the spectucular views of Mt Cook. Stumbled across 3 bare chested folk waving palms and sticking their tongues out - weird ! ( check out the photos )

Next stop - Fox Glacier - equally as impressive.

Then the longish drive down the west coast towards the Haast Pass. The weather turned ( just got our flight in in time ) as we passed through rainforest and raging surf.

We stopped for a quick photo at "Our creek " on the way up the Haast pass and down into Wanaka passing past Lake Hawea.

Checked into out home for the next few days. Our Aussie crew had already ramped up the temperature to subtropical levels - anything would think they can't do cold !!
