Bonjour!
Well, I won't keep you waiting for the latest and greatest from this holiday season in France. I definitely missed home, but had a blast here too. I believe I left off at Christmas Eve dinner, which, turns out wasn't as horrifying as expected.
Christmas was a different then "Chez Moi" (at my place) because we opened all our presents Christmas Eve. I was still spoiled though. I got a gorgeous new purse and a lovely French crystal statue. (Daum-if that means anything to you). Not to mention all my goodies from home too.
We sat down for dinner around 8 and If i'm not mistaken finished around 2.30 am. Yes, it's a record breaking meal length for me, but apparently not so shocking for anyone else. The time did pass quickly though. Between the Caviar (my first time tasting it) and the lively and sometimes heated conversations. I swear I saw a flying bread roll at one point,The French can get thier point across!
No one was up really early on the 25th (well, technically yes.) And I spent most of the day with the phone glued to my ear calling home, and making Christmas dinner. Which consisted of the Infamous Escargot (Singular!). Turns out, it tasted a lot like butter and parsley, beacause, that's largely what it was. But I'm definitely not rushing to eat anymore.
There were no Boxing day sales on the 26th because they start tommorow. I was a little impatient to spend my money on the latest in French fashion. Luckily, I had Eurodisney to distract me!!!
If I had to sum up my day in one word, I would have to use "SUPER-MAGNIFICENT-ABSOLUTLY-WONDERFUL-FUN-TASTIC. We were up at 5am to catch the train, but it only took an hour because we were travelling a mere 320km/hour...
I got to go on all my favourite rides. We got to go on The Pirates of the Carribean, Autotopia, The Haunted Mansion, The Teacups...well, you get the point. I even got to see Chip and Dale and T-I-Double "G"-EERRR. (Or T-I-one "G"-R-O-O in French. Yes...his name is Tigroo.) It wasn't as hot as the California Disneyland. But it was just as fun. However, if anyone knows how long it takes for "It's a small world" to get out of my head. Could you let me know? It's been over a week and I'm starting to consider medical attention among other durastic measures. I still catch myself humming it...
New Years was also one to remeber. It was mostly filled with dancing to ridiculous 80's French music mixed with a little Britney and Village People, Some seemingly good ideas, (including far too much confetti, a 3am chocolate fondu and a 4am stroll.) and even a little karaoke-French style. The French among other things, know how to ring in the new year properly. In fact, we had so much fun that we did it again two days later (With different people).
Today, we celebrated the Epiphany. I didn't know about it. But it involves choosing a king by placing a bean in a cake. Whoever gets the piece with the bean inside, is the king. I got the little bean, that was actually a little trinket and not at all edible, so I got to be king. (Or rather Queen). It's kind of a cute little tradition, that would be fun to celebrate every year.
So that sums up my holidays here in France, it's back to school tommorow and I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the great shopping, now discounted, located just outside my schools doors.
Hope you all had just as much fun as I did, I hear Vancouver got a white Christmas..and New Year...and, well, all I have to say is Good Luck!

(P.S. I hope my spelling isn't too horrible now. I think I'm going to have to stop by England to brush up before I come home)
