Wow we have had a few really crazy days...
Our last day in Bangkok was perfect, we did some last minute shopping at our favourite canal market, we stocked up on cheap toiletries, we sat on a local bus all around Bangkok , got on our last tuk tuk and ate our last thai meal. We ate are last thai meal in the same restaurant we had eaten out first thai meal. Our ordering this time round was way more adventurous! In the evening we had a thai massage and i got my hair trimmed. Afterwards we went and met up with friends from school in a bar, two of them had been travelling for the same time as us and the other 4 had just joined them. It was sooo good to talk to people from home and it was great to talk to the two who has been travelling because they spoke about their travellers with the same passion and enthusiasm me and emma talk about ours with. As it was four of their first nights and our last night- we celebrated. A lot of Sang Som (thai rum) was consumed, probably too much as me and emma slept through our alarm the next morning and could have easily missed our flight if someone hadnt knocked on our door... Whoops!
So we arrived in Perth, we'd made the effort to book a hostel in advance, which we never do- we knew it would be packed. We arrived at our hostel and their was no one at reception, we waited and no one came and there was a sign hanging over the door- NO VACANCY... We wondered around trying to find a room but all the hostels were full. Just as we were beginning to give up hope a drunk irish guy offered us a couch. We hesitated. We probably shouldnt have accepted. On reflection it was a silly thing to do. We offered to buy him pizza he refused, we offered to pay for the cab and he wouldnt let us, he genuinely just didnt want to see us sleep on the street. Names werent even exchanged. In the morning he gave us his new zealand lonely planet book and we left! We were very lucky that night to bump in to a friendly Irish guy with a couch.
The next day we found a hostel and the search for an apartment began...
Today we went to see two apartment and the 2nd one was perfect it's between Rockingham and Mandurah right on the coast. We have a 3 bedroom newly decorated bungalo with a swimming pool to ourselves and it doesn't look like anyone else is going to be moving in for a while!! We got very lucky again! Very very lucky. The area is a little bit like Cornwal and the street we live on is like the street in Desperate Housewives. Its near two towns so hopefully we'll find work their and 30 minutes from the city centre. I'm sure this is all very boring for everyone reading but im so excited about it and felt very grown up this morning going to look at apartments!
We're moving in 2morow!!
