The first beach we went to on Ko Phi Phi (Long Beach) was a bit busy for me and emma although the beach was the most beautiful ive seen. See through water white sand and all around jutting cliffs into the sea. Although the beach was busy it was still a boat ride away from any shops so one evening me and emma decided to save on money we'd treck to the local town instead of getting a boat. We had heard that it could be done -probably not in flip flops and dresses! We managed it in the end though and it was nice to spend a few hours away from the beach. We had planned to walk back as well but there was a massive storm so we had to get a longtale boat which was kinda scary and exciting being on a boat in a storm. It was very exciting being in a beach hut in a storm! I sat on the balcony and watched the lightning. It was quite incredible. The morning after that we got a boat to Rantee Bay which was even less buit up than Bottle Beach. We stayed in a lovely beach hut there and had a little garden at the back with an open air toilet and shower so we had to pee in the middle of the garden. The down side of Koh Phi Phi is the water shortage and the water that came out of the shower in our garden bathroom came out a dark browny/reddy colour. So the few days we were there for we had to have baths in the sea. This was ok for a couple of days but it eventually began to take its toll especially because we were staying right on the beach so there was no escape from the sand.
We made friends with the bartender on Rantee Beach. Well i say bartender but he probably makes about 3 drinks a night because it's so quite here and i wouldnt exactly call it a bar more like a little wooden shack!. He's supposed to start work at 6 in the evening but he sits behind the 'bar' all day anyway playing one reggae c.d after another. Very funny guy he found a baby monkey 7 months ago and he kept it for 6 months looking after it and a month ago it dissapeared. The monkey is his favourite topic of conversation and when he talks about it his eyes fill up with tears!
Because there are no shops on Rantee Bay we'd put in our orders for alcohol and supplys with the bartender in the morning and we'd get them by the evening.
Well we left Rantee Bay yesterday and began a long treck back to Bangkok we had to get 2 boats, a bus and a coach. It took a very long time but as always i managed to sleep most of the way. Its become my party trick as soon as i sit down i fall asleep. We're in Bangkok now where we are spending our last day in Thailand...
We went snorkleing in Rantee Bay and Kayaking
