Wedding Day!!!
Lots of people rushing around today as the final preparations are being done. I started taking pictures of the guys getting ready around noon. It's quite funny watching them go from sloppy to down rite handsome. There were two little guys, brothers, as part of the wedding party. One was to be ring bearer while the younger one was to carry a sign up the aisle that read "Uncle Jimmy, here comes your girl". They looked adorable in their white shirts, black pants and suspenders. I took a few shots of the guys outside and a couple of Jim and his mom and then we headed off to take a few of Karli where she was getting ready. She was getting ready across the road from where the reception was going to be. We took our Motorhome and parked at the reception hall as did others who had trailers and such. It was nice and convenient for letting Micki out periodically during the busy day.
Karli looked breathtaking in her gorgeous white gown. So easy to get beautiful pictures when you have beautiful subjects.
We headed off to get set up for pictures at the ceremony.
It was a nice day, overcast but perfect temperature. Set up the video camera on the tripod and let it run throughout while Bob and I each had a camera. He positioned himself on one side of the bridge while I set up on the main side.
It was an absolutely beautiful ceremony. Very short and sweet in such a gorgeous setting. The part of photographing a wedding that I don't enjoy much is the large groups but I have to say it went so smoothly and it was fun. I love working with the wedding party and the bride and groom alone and this was such a good, fun wedding party. Lots of fun pictures were taken. Just as we were finishing up it started to spit rain. It never developed into more than that and Jim and Karli wanted to go to the marina to take a few shots in the dock. I was stunned at the size of the marina and the number of boats there. Cold Lake is such a pretty place.
The reception was fun and the meal very good - catered by Karli's mom and dad who own a restaurant in the Yukon where they are from.
It was really nice at the end of it all to be able to walk across the parking lot to crawl into bed.
