14th SUN: up early for bus ride to mui ne. 5hrs in total. probably the most dangerous of the bus rides . got to mui ne about 12:30. met a girl getting off the bus and we started looking for accom. in end it was cheaper to share a room, works out about $6per nite. called mui ne dreams. there is no beach by us. they've built right up to the water. beach further down, not sure how far. met some guys, played cards with them. then 3 of us went to white sand dunes for sliding down. tried getting ripped off loads of times on way to sand dunes. we agree 50k to get there and back.. but then the kids aswell, board broke etc etc. but the 1hr ride on the back of the bike was worth it.. in night met some other people. we all played cards, then 5 of us played pool. place pogo was dead.
15th MON: today walked to the fairy stream. about 40 mins walk, not worth it. little waterfall at top. then walked into town itself. then walked towards red sand dunes. lady stopped with a kid on scooter and gave us a ride for free. then we got there, stayed for 5mins and ready to go back. again not worth visiting. hitch hiked a lift back to hotel for 20k. went to use a hotel pool. in night played cards in a restaurant. went back earlyish and watched marley &me.
16th TUES: booked flights to HK cheapest was air asia but have to fly to kuala lumpur. caught minibus to Dalat. whole road was like a minefield. with bomb craters. worst road in world. some reason the tarmac in some places was pushed up 4 feet!! so ride was comfortable even tho i had loads of room for a change. had a puncture on the way, and i had to help the guy change the tyre. walked around dalat in night. quite cold -jumper on!. there was nothing lively, no bars /pubs. gutted. so early night. 10pm. seem to be loads of dogs running around in every city. in dalat alot of the house are european influence. hotel was peace 2 hotel.
17th WED: booked a mo-ped for the afernoon from au nanhs cafe, she did a good deal, very friendly. went to crazy house, pagoda (closed) then to dantala waterfall. waterfall good but nothing else there. prenn waterfall-would avoid, very tacky, not much water over fall and elephants dont look well treated. then did the cable car, just had enough time to get a round trip. in night played pool with vietnamese, english, german and candianpeople. place is dead after 10 so went back and packed.
