11th Thurs: up at 6 to catch bus at 7:45. this city (P2) doesnt seem to have rush hour, just constant traffic -no jams tho!! another 6hr journey today to ho chi minh city (HCMC). decided to catch bus as after the boat crossing no one could tell me how nand when i could get to HCMC. note: ANZ bank (blue) charge $4 to withdraw, canadia and royal bank of cambodia seem to be free.
border crossing was great (unlike cambodia) tour people basically did it all and only took 1/2hr (unlike previous 2 hrs). decided to get a dormitory room as 10 its alot cheaper, but still expensive @ $6pn & 2) tired of being lonely so looking to meet some people. picked a hostel out of guidebook and lucky enough bus dropped off next street over. took a while to orientate myself tho but found it -full! went down a back alley to a couple more, one had a dorm room so grabbed it. its a short room - cant stand up in it. got sorted and went for a walk and some food. got back to hostel at 9:30 chatting to a french guy and a peruvian girl.

12th FRI: up early for morning trip to chu chi tunnels. good trip, worth the visit for the cost. they let you shoot some guns- ak47, m16, m60, bazooka etc. prices were around 280,000 dong. i didnt have enough money. gutted!! afrter tour dropped off at war remnants museum, met a guy off bus, john. walked around with him. very interesting place. they proper name and shame people. met up with john later in night for few drinks.

13th SAT: up early for mekong delta day trip. again well worth the trip. all seems to be run through tnk travel, so itineraries in diff shops all differ and tour is diff as it says, but not by much. went out in evening, didnt meet anyone so went back to hostel around 10:30. missed out on reunification palace -everyone recommende3d it, but didnt have time.
