day 1 17th: was feeling ok coming off the flight! was such a great feeling!! yay. met the majority of the group and then went for food with the group. Then hit koh san road. tried some fried grasshoppers. disgusting, but had 3 or 4 to make sure. Saw a thai band, singing bob marley songs, but the pronounciation was pretty poor..."i hot the helliff"was my favourite number. they had a random art gallery upstairs. Had a tower of chang beer with craig & martin.

18th: should have checked the percentage of the beer...6.5%. hungover to hell. went to the temples and did the river cruise. went to a bar /club in the night. played pool with some random guys, i sucked but won 4 games by fluke. did some sober dancing in the club, very embarressing. got in from koh san road about 3 again.

19th: went to grand palace mid afternoon. hot today but felt worse yesterday. spent rest of afternoon having food. minibus to trainstation to catch train to surat thani. overnight train 6:20pm to 6:00am. had top bunk. was actually quite comfortable but loud, hot and smell of piss now and again from toilet. the conductor guys were gay as hell and joined in with the drunkeness. the party wagon came to life pretty well. some fat gay czech guy was a sex pest.

20th: bus from surat thanito port 1hr boat ride to koh samui then 1hr boat ride to koh phangnan. saw some dolphins in port. koh phangnan has really windy roads - dangerous. spent rest of day at beacvh on resort. got sun stroke i think but came round in night. went to reggae bar. everyone was drinking buckets and got hammered. on way home stopped at a beach party where we ended up staying till 3. sea cucumber jizzed on me.

21st private boat trip around koh phang nan. stopped at waterfall for a swim. stopped at bottle beach -only accessible by boat. then did some snorkelling - really clear, beautiful, awesome experience. boat broke down. had a quiet evening. went to see some thai boxing on in this dingy back alley with corregated iron. one guy broke his leg, bit of blood & alot of knockouts

22nd early start for boat trip to Anthong marine park. first stopped at these 2 little islands to do snorkelling but wasnt very good so jumped off top of boat alot. next was the national park to see the lagoon, absolutely stunning. then went to view the cave-kayaked over couple 100ms only. tough walk to cave bare footed. kayaked back to boat. saw some dolphins, but very little viewing. boat back to island. in evening went for mexican and then half moon party. i had heat stroke again (burnt my head), felt really rough before going but rehydrated tablets and alot of water and i was back on form. got to half moon, had a bucket to drink and got completely wrecked off the first 4 gulps i was that dehydrated. got hme at 3:30. hitched a ride on a bumper of a car.

23rd get up feeling fine and went for elephant trek, there was a little place with 3 big elephants and a baby one, a monkey - which bit and pissed on reena. trek was 1/2hr and they walked surprisingly slower that they look. then had a proper thai massage with becca, reena and josef in same room. reena and josef made alot of moaning!! very loud. then went to town to sort out transport for tomorro. went for mexican food for final meal. then went to reggae reggae bar, stayed there till one. will had a tatoo done in the tatoo room in the pub - how cool. then went to beach party, stayed till 4:30.

wed 24th said goodbye to the gang who were staying behind. in the end 8 of us decided to go to koh tao and 6 decided to stay mainly for the full moon party. we got picked up, then boat over (around 2hrs) then we got taxi to Ban's diving resort. 6 of us went looking for accom while 2 stayed with the bags. The saga crew ended up booking into the 5*ban's resort so i joined them for free as i signed up for scuba diving which cost 9800baht, around 190GBP. resort is beautiful, got a lovely room sharing with 5 of us as other 3 couldnt afford it. in night went for food, walked along beach with everyone, stopped at couple of chilled out bars, fell asleep on bean bags at fizz bar.

25th nice lie in!! walked along beach, through town sussing things out. started diving course at 5:30 all theory today. in night had a couple of drinks but everyone was tired and i had an early morning so went back to room.

26th FRI up early for 9am start. did theory all morning in classroom. afternoon did first training in pool with full apparatus. was quite difficult, did a couple of mistakes but got it quite well. finished at 7. in night guys had another quiet one but i quit at 11:30.

27th SAT up at 6 am for 7:154 meet. doing dives 1 & 2 today, 8m & 12m. 1st dive was at mango bay, 2nd dive at twin peaks. saw millions of fish and a stingray. in evening all 14 of us from thaintro met for food along with couple from my course and their friends. in night went to a transvestite bar where they put on a show. i got forced up on stage but s*** out of doing anything when they wanted me to strip. couple of guys got called up later to do ymca in costume. excellent night. i went home after that but everyone else stayed out.

28th SUN Dives 3 & 4 today. down to the max 18m. did the takre off mask and put on sunglasses but the underwater camera girl missed it. also did a somersault. in the night had a pretty chilled out night, but got wrecked. sunday hours so alot of places were shut or very quiet.

MON 1st chilled out!! did the beach, did the pool. had a little walk through town. days just go by so fast. in night it was full moon night so again everywhere was quiet. sliced open foot on walk home -pissed.

2nd couldnt do much today because of foot -its really bad actually. so walked through town, sorted out my travels for tomorrow. in night went to trannie bar (queens) and watched the show again (different show) couple of them tried to make out with me. i felt so dirty, but when in thailand!!! got wrecked on 2 buckets. had last meal together at jizz bar before that. then went to ban's, had a disco thing going on, met the american unit, camilla was pretty drunk ;). awesome night, got completely wrecked.

3rd still pissed waking up, hang over setting in at 12. threw up breakfast at 1. thought i learned my lesson :( but what a great night.hangover started to fade just as boarding taxi. said bye to few of the guys-rest were busy & josef & craigwent in the morning. josef turned up 20mins to go still pissed. just chilled out at bingo's and the pool and then got taxi to the pier. ferry was an hr late setting off. reena came in taxi with me as her ferry was an hr later. really set in today that i was going to be travelling on my own from now on and how fantastic the thaintro group was. couldnt have asked for a nicer group of people. saw becca on the pier so managed to say bye to her and chatted for a bit which passed the time. ferry was a 3hr journey. sat on my own the whole way and then hung around pier for ages on own (other people there tho). on way to train station had to sit on bumper of pickup wagon. a guys backpack fell off the roof and almost took this guys head off who was sitting next to me. we both shouted for the driver to stop. we were 20 mins late for the train but that ended up being 40mins late so made it. was in a cabin on my own full of thai people. all friendly and one lady was nice enough to find my seat etc. journey was 8hrs long, then had 20mins in bangkok before catching train to aranyaprathet.

thurs 4th. train to aranya.. only cost 48baht (90p). again in carriage on my own with thai people but again they were helpful and friendly. no announcement of stations-lucky i got two terminal stops. train was 5 1/2hrs long. some little guy got on train and introduced himself, asked me my name where i was going etc. didnt realise he was a tuk tuk driver and that by talking to him i had just bought his services. got off train and told him i was going to look for people to share with. luckily i bumped into 2 american girls (appeared to be the last ones there) i asked them if i wanted to share, couldnt but said i could follow them. met them at the bank and then at border control. caught the bus from border to siem reap. then asked them if i could come with them to accomodation as i hadnt had anything booked. so we shared a tuk tuk and decided on the 2nd place -smileys. had food with them and also planned to go around angkor wat with them tomorrow. bed at 9:30 after 29hrs travelling.
