WED 10th: had pancakes for breakfast. walked to tuol sleng genocide museum (S21). had a couple of hours there. really aweful what went on there. couple of people i saw crying. the cambodians dont really look after their tourist sites. lots of rubbish and the buildings are close to falling down. not much care taken of them. took a few pictures just to show people how bad it was. recommend getting a guide at Choeung Ek as he was pretty informative and free -had to donate and then come to S21 after. in afternoon walked to national museum, had food from a stall for $1. if only i could do it every day. museum was $3 entry and wasnt even worth that. very poor and would not recommend it. got a moto taxi back to internet shop and finally managed to phone home. skype, when it works is great. cost like 20p for an hour. had to walk another 20 mins to find bank. not many banks here and some charge $4 fee, but cambodia bank appears to do it for free. and they only issue US dollars. must say that i will be glad to leave P2, it really is a stopover city between siem reap and hcmc and everything can be seen in a day. hope HCMC is better! although sitting in a restaurant on last night, watching the guys drive girls around on their scooters, making small talk with the staff and little kid, thers a nice feel about the place, a kinda warmth that naturally draws you in -i think i might quite like this city.
