After an amazing yesterday we said good bye to Matthijs who we would meet in Edinburgh again when we where back and we continued to do some more stops on the southern part of Isle of Skye before we went to Eilean Donan Castle on the mainland.
The stops we had at Isle of Skye was the Fairy Pools which was a cute waterfall which you can see on the picture of this entry where me and Julia jumped around. We enjoyed this stop a lot and much more than our next stop which was not really as we expected. We went to a small fishing town called Elgol since it was said that the views from there over the Cuillins was the greatest. However, the drive there was further and curvier than we thought we would be so none of us really thought it was worth it but we hoped our next stop would be for the better. After a quick lunch in Broadford we left Isle of Skye and already longing for the next visit.
The next stop we had was Eilean Donan Castle which is one of the must sees in Scotland. Even though it was built for many many years ago they had done some restaurations so it could fit for a family to live there today. We liked it a lot and Julia and Kees decided that they wanted to see it from above so while they where walking up the nearest mountain me, Rikard and Menno had some carrot cake and music talk before we went on in our racing car.
Some of us in the party were big Harry Potter fans (me and Julia) so we wanted to see Glenfinnan Viaduct were the Hogwarts Express have been passing in the movies, great stuff!
After a quick stop in the old royal burgh of Fort William we went to our hostel in Glencoe. It was located in the middle of nowhere but it was really really beautiful. We shared a dorm with a brazilian girl and the night was spent playing cards and drinking wine. It was needed after all the days on the road.
Kisses
